The FEF-OSC stands as a cornerstone of France’s partnership with Nigerian civil society. Through targeted financial and technical support, the Fund empowers locally led organisations to tackle some of the country’s most pressing challenges—gender inequality, economic vulnerability, and community resilience. This year’s edition marks a significant scale-up, with 19 civil society organisations (CSOs) selected through a competitive process to implement high-impact projects across diverse Nigerian communities. The selected initiatives will receive a one year grant, focused not only on immediate results but also on long-term institutional strengthening.
The FEF-OSC initiative is anchored on three interconnected pillars: promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment, fostering economic inclusion through locally driven, scalable solutions, and empowering local CSOs as engines of sustainable development. This three-pronged approach guides the fund’s support to civil society, strengthening organisations that champion women’s rights, expand livelihood opportunities, and build grassroots alliances that leave no one behind
